I had a challenge.  Several requests for stud earrings... specifically druzy stud earrings!  Initially I had no clue as to how I could create stud earrings.   For inspiration, I looked on Etsy at all the druzy stud earrings.  I saw many beautiful creations as well as a few craft projects gone wrong.  I really like some of the traditional bezel settings I saw as I perused the pages.   I also saw many simple wire wrapped options from many different artists.  That technique would fit the bill but I didn't want to make what everyone else was making.

I decided to experiment with the coiled wire I used in some of my other designs.

I had some interesting attempts in getting it right.  The biggest challenge was wrapping it just right and then securing it so that the earring would lay correctly.  Finally I found a solution to let the post protrude from the top 1/3 of the earring so that there is some hang off the ear lobe.  The position seemed to get everything laying just right.

So far the Druzy Stud Earrings in a coil bezel setting have been well received.  I am currently making this style in gold druzy and white druzy.  If they prove popular, I will look for some fun colors to add to the collection.  What color would you like to see added?
